Planting Installation

The planting plan only works if it's installed well. This is where months of design either come good or quietly fail.

Preparation first

We prepare soil properly — breaking up compaction, improving structure, adding organic matter where it's needed. Planting into unprepared ground is the most common reason schemes underperform, and it's entirely avoidable.

Set out to the design

Every plant goes where the plan says, at the spacing the plan specifies. We set out beds before planting so the composition can be checked and adjusted while it's still easy. Specimens are positioned by eye as well as by measurement — some things only look right once you see them in place.

Planted at the right time, the right way

  • Timing matched to species and season
  • Correct depth — the single most common planting error
  • Root balls teased and watered in properly
  • Staking where it's needed, removed when it isn't
  • Mulched to conserve moisture and suppress competition

Mature specimens and delicate schemes

We handle large specimen trees with the equipment and care they need, and delicate perennial schemes with the patience they need. Both get the same attention — because a garden is only as good as its weakest planting.
